Elwha Watershed Information Resource

About This Site

The Elwha Watershed Information Resource integrates ecological and socioeconomic information that describes the physical environment, biological and human communities, and management issues in the Elwha watershed. The Elwha Watershed Information Resource was developed to support the management and recovery of the Elwha Watershed after dam removal. The online resource complements ongoing activities related to dam removal, including those of the National Park Service, the Elwha Research Consortium and NOAA Fisheries.

The Elwha Watershed Information Resource:
  • Informs management of the biological and physical changes in the watershed after dam removal to assist them in supporting its ecological recovery,
  • Guides the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and other users in the future use of the recovered watershed, and
  • Describes the management setting within which the recovery efforts will occur.

The Elwha Watershed Information Resource is designed to increase communication among stakeholders, provide education, and facilitate access to data related to the Elwha Watershed.
